A committed disciple chooses to live the faith with conviction, not just through words but with action. The first reading from the Book of the Prophet Ezekiel reminds us that God does not delight in the death of the wicked but in their turning back to Him. Jesus echoes this in the Gospel with the parable of the two sons: one says "yes" but does nothing; the other says "no" but eventually goes to work. In God's eyes, the one who acts is the one who truly obeys.

As a parish community, we are reminded about how we live out our faith. Faith is not measured by what we say, but by what we do. Here at St. Paul the Apostle, we have countless opportunities to live our "yes" to God with the various ministries that serve, teach, welcome, and heal. Jesus' parable challenges us to examine our hearts:

Are we the son who says "yes" but never steps into the vineyard?
Or are we the one who finally gets up and goes where the Father sends?

Many of us intend to get involved, to serve and to grow spiritually, but intentions alone don't build the Kingdom — action does. Our "vineyard" is not far away; it's right here in our parish. Every ministry is a place where someone's "yes" becomes real.

This week, the challenge of the Gospel is this simple but life-changing question:
What is one concrete action I can take to live my "yes" to God?

Maybe joining a ministry, returning to confession, reaching out to someone who needs encouragement, or finally responding to the nudge of the Holy Spirit. Whatever it is, do it. Let this be the week when your "yes" becomes visible.

Imagine our parish community if every person moved from intention to action, if every "yes" became a lived commitment. We would become a community where God's mercy is not only preached but embodied, and where discipleship is not a word but a way of life.

This Sunday, Jesus is not asking for perfection. He is asking for movement. He is asking for sincerity. He is asking for your "yes" — not spoken, but lived and acted upon.
