“A Season of Hope, Peace, Joy
and Love: A Reflection on the Four Virtues of Advent”
Deacon John will take a deeper look at the tradition of the Advent wreath and the themes, or virtues, each candle represents. In preparing for the coming of Our Lord, and in continuing our Pilgrim journey for this Jubilee Year of Hope, let us encounter each virtue and discern how we can make our Advent journey more fruitful, both spiritually and within our community.
Deacon John and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 38 years and have three daughters. They became members of St. Paul the Apostle in March of 2025 when Deacon John was reassigned from St Margaret Mary, Chino where they were parishioners since 1989. He was ordained a deacon in 2015 in the Diocese of San Bernardino. After having a career as a human resources information system analyst, Deacon John is now semi-retired and expanding his ministry here at St Paul the Apostle. Throughout his diaconate he
has been involved in various ministries including: bereavement, baptism and marriage preparation, Divine Mercy, Marriage Enrichment, and outreach ministries such as Isaiah’s Rock, Mary’s Mercy Table, and the Salesian Mission Center and detention ministry in serving the inmates at Chino Men’s Prison.
